Ingredients

Scale

2832 ounces frozen French fries

1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon onion powder

¼ teaspoon chili powder

¼ teaspoon paprika

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons butter for the cheese sauce

2 tablespoons flour for the cheese sauce

2/3 cup milk for the cheese sauce

2 cups freshly shredded medium cheddar cheese for the cheese sauce

1 tablespoon ranch dressing for serving

Instructions

1-Start with 28-32 ounces of frozen French fries and season them with 1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2-Coat the fries evenly with the seasoning mixture, reserving ½ teaspoon for topping later.

3-Bake the fries according to the package instructions until they are golden and crispy.

4-While the fries bake, prepare the cheese sauce: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat in a saucepan.

5-Whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for a minute, then gradually add 2/3 cup of milk, stirring until the mixture thickens.

6-Slowly add 2 cups of freshly shredded medium cheddar cheese, letting each portion melt fully before adding more, then keep the sauce warm.

7-To serve, place about ¼ of the fries on a plate, top with ¼ cup of the cheese sauce, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of ranch dressing, and sprinkle with the reserved seasoning.

8-Offer extra ranch dressing, cheese sauce, or ketchup on the side for dipping.
