🍝 Whip up a comforting and quick spaghetti dinner perfect for busy weeknights with this easy recipe.
⏰ Ready in under 30 minutes, it combines flavorful ground meat and a simple, savory tomato sauce to satisfy everyone at the table.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings

Ingredients

– 1 pound (450g) Dried spaghetti noodles

– 1 pound (450g) Lean ground meat (such as ground beef, ground turkey, or bulk Italian sausage)

– 3 tablespoons Olive oil

– 1 cup (130g) Chopped onion

– 3 cloves (about 1 tablespoon) Garlic cloves, minced

– 2 tablespoons Tomato paste

– ½ teaspoon Dried oregano

– Pinch Crushed red pepper flakes

– 1 cup (236ml) Water, broth, or dry red wine

– 1 (28oz) can Crushed tomatoes

– Salt To taste

– Fresh ground black pepper To taste

– Handful Fresh basil leaves, plus more for serving

– Parmesan cheese For serving

Instructions

1-First, gather all your ingredients and utensils to make the process smooth.

2-Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta; this ensures your spaghetti cooks evenly.

3-While the water heats, you can prep your other items, like chopping onions and mincing garlic, to save time.

4-Next, add the dried spaghetti noodles to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes for al dente texture.

5-I always stir occasionally to prevent sticking, and remember that al dente pasta holds up better in the sauce.

6-While the pasta boils, heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat and add the minced garlic and chopped onion; sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

7-Then, stir in the tomato paste, dried oregano, and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes for that extra kick.

8-Pour in the water, broth, or dry red wine, followed by the crushed tomatoes, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.

9-Season with salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste, and add the lean ground meat to brown it fully for a hearty version.

10-Finally, toss in fresh basil leaves just before mixing with the drained spaghetti for a burst of flavor.

11-When combining the sauce and pasta, do it gently to coat evenly without breaking the noodles.

12-I like serving it right away with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, as it makes the meal feel special even on a busy night.
