Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 400°F and get a large bowl ready. Stir together the yeast, sugar, and warm water, then wait about 5 minutes until it bubbles this means the yeast is active. It’s a fun moment that shows your bread is on its way to rising nicely.

2-Next, add the flour, olive oil, salt, and herbs to that bowl and stir until the dough starts to form. Press in any leftover flour bits, shape it into a ball, and cover it with a towel. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes in a warm spot, like on top of the oven, to proof and get puffy.

3-After proofing, sprinkle some flour on your counter, turn out the dough, and knead it just 3 to 4 times. Shape it into an oval, place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush it with olive oil. Add a sprinkle of salt and make a few slashes on top for that classic look.
