🍪 Dive into the perfect combination of Nutella and chocolate chip cookie with each soft, gooey bite of this delightful treat.
😍 These bakery-style cookies are easy to make and perfect for satisfying any sweet tooth with their rich flavors and gooey centers.

  • Total Time: 38 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

– 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter

– 1 cup (280g) Nutella

– 1 cup (200g) light brown sugar, packed

– 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar

– 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1 teaspoon kosher salt

– 2 1/2 cups (312g) all-purpose flour

– 1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

– Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2-Melt the butter over medium-low heat, allowing it to gently brown until the milk solids turn amber-color. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

3-Drop 24 spoonfuls (about 2 teaspoons each) of Nutella onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 20 minutes to firm up.

4-In a large bowl, mix the cooled browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until combined.

5-Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.

6-Stir in baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold in flour until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.

7-Chill the dough for 15 to 30 minutes to firm up.

8-Scoop 3-tablespoon portions of dough, flatten slightly, create a well in the center, and place a frozen Nutella dollop inside. Seal dough completely around Nutella, rolling into balls.

9-Arrange cookie balls about 3 inches apart on the baking sheet.

10-Bake for 8 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are soft. Cool on baking sheet for 3-4 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

11-Optionally, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top to enhance flavor contrast.

Notes

🥄 Browning the butter adds a deep, nutty flavor that complements the Nutella’s richness.
❄️ Freezing the Nutella beforehand prevents it from leaking during baking and helps to maintain neat, stuffed cookies.
🍪 Cookies can be frozen either before or after baking; freeze dough balls for up to 30 days and bake from frozen with a slightly longer baking time.
