– ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

– ½ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)

– ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

– ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil or neutral flavored oil

– 1 cup (200g) dark or light brown sugar, packed

– 3 large eggs, room temperature

– ¾ to 1 cup (180–240ml) pure maple syrup, room temperature (100% pure recommended)

– 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

– ½ cup (120g) full-fat sour cream, room temperature (or ½ cup 2% Greek yogurt plus ½ tbsp white vinegar)

– ½ cup (120ml) whole milk, room temperature

– 1 ½ cups (340g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

– 5 cups (600g) powdered sugar, sifted

– ½ teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

– ⅓ to ½ cup (80–120ml) pure maple syrup

– Optional: 1 to 2 teaspoons maple extract for enhanced flavor

– Chopped pecans for garnish (optional)

– 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, room temperature

– 1 cup (227g) cream cheese, room temperature

– 2 teaspoons maple extract

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– ½ teaspoon salt

– 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar

– 1 cup pecans for garnish

Instructions

1-Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2-Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

3-Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition.

4-Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

5-Cooking: Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6-Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
