🍪 Hot Chocolate Cookies combine rich cocoa flavor with melting chocolate chips for a decadent treat.
☕ These cookies bring the cozy warmth of hot chocolate into a soft, chewy cookie perfect for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: Approximately 36 cookies

Ingredients

– 1 cup butter, softened

– 1 cup sugar

– 2/3 cup brown sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (use 3 cups for flatter cookies)

– 3/4 cups hot cocoa mix (non-sugar-free) or 4 packages of hot cocoa mix

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 2 teaspoons baking powder

– 1 cup chocolate chips

– 1 cup freeze-dried marshmallows or Mallow Bits

Instructions

1-Getting started: with hot cocoa cookies is easy and fun. First, beat the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy, then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well for a smooth base. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, hot cocoa mix, salt, baking soda, and baking powder before gradually adding them to the butter mixture and blending thoroughly.

2-Next, stir in the chocolate chips and Mallow Bits, though for less melting, you can add the Mallow Bits after chilling the dough. Cover the dough and chill it for at least 30 minutes, up to 24 hours, to enhance the flavors. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), drop rounded 2-tablespoon portions of dough about 2 inches apart onto lined baking sheets, and bake for 9 to 11 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.

3-After baking, cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before moving them to wire racks to cool completely. This step-by-step process ensures your hot cocoa cookies turn out moist and delicious every time.

Notes

🧁 Dough will be drier than typical cookie dough but yields moist cookies; avoid adding extra liquid.
⚖️ Use 3 1/4 cups flour and chill longer for thicker cookies, or 3 cups flour for thinner ones.
🍫 Add marshmallows after chilling to prevent them from melting or press onto dough before baking.
