Ingredients

1 ½ cups warm water

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1 packet instant dry yeast

3 to 4 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons salt

½ cup salted butter, melted

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons dried oregano

2 teaspoons dried basil

1 teaspoon salt

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1-1. In a stand mixer bowl fitted with a dough hook, combine 1 ½ cups warm water, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 packet instant dry yeast, 3 cups flour, and 1 ½ teaspoons salt.

2-2. Mix on medium-low until dough starts to form, adding extra flour 1-2 tablespoons at a time if too wet.

3-3. Increase speed to medium-high and mix for at least 5 minutes to develop gluten.

4-4. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise about 1 hour until doubled.

5-5. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.

6-6. Roll dough on floured surface into a 12 by 24-inch rectangle.

7-7. Combine ½ cup melted butter with 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoons dried oregano, 2 teaspoons dried basil, and 1 teaspoon salt.

8-8. Brush half the butter mixture over dough, sprinkle with half the ½ cup Parmesan cheese.

9-9. Fold dough in half, brush remaining butter on top, then sprinkle remaining cheese.

10-10. Cut dough into 1-inch strips (about 12 strips).

11-11. Twist each strip, place on baking sheet.

12-12. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden.

13-13. Cool at least 5 minutes before serving.
