🍇 This easy grape jam captures the natural sweetness of fresh grapes with just three simple ingredients.
🍯 No pectin or added water needed, making it a quick, wholesome spread for toast, biscuits, or desserts.

  • Total Time: 53 minutes
  • Yield: 3 x 0.5 L jars (≈1.5 L total)

Ingredients

– 1.7 kg seedless grapes, opt for a mix of red, black, and green varieties for a vibrant flavor

– 1 kg granulated sugar, which helps bring out that perfect sweetness and acts as a preserver

– 3 tablespoons lemon juice, adding a zesty balance and helping the jam set just right

Instructions

1-First off, pop a few small saucers in the freezer; they’ll help you test if the jam’s ready later on.

2-Wash your jars and lids in hot soapy water or give them a spin in the dishwasher. Then, fill them with boiling water, empty them out, and pop them in a 140 °C oven for 20 minutes. Keep the lids in boiling water until you’re ready to use them.

3-Toss the grapes, sugar, and lemon juice into your large preserving pan. Heat it gently, giving it a good stir now and then until the sugar’s all dissolved this might take about 20 minutes.

4-As it warms up, mash those grapes with your wooden spoon or potato masher to let out all that juicy goodness.

5-Once the sugar’s fully dissolved, take the pan off the heat and blend everything with your immersion blender until it’s nice and smooth, like a fruity juice.

6-Back on the burner it goes bring it to a boil and keep an eye on it, stirring occasionally. You’ll test for the set using those frozen saucers; if it wrinkles when cool, it’s done.

7-Pour the hot jam straight into your pre-warmed jars, seal them up tight with the lids, and let them cool.

8-For storage, keep the sealed jars in a cool, dark, dry spot. Once opened, straight into the fridge it goes, and use it up within a few months with a clean spoon each time.

Notes

🍇 Use seedless grapes for a smoother jam; if using seeded grapes, halve and remove seeds before cooking.
⏱️ If the jam is too runny, continue boiling a few minutes longer; if too thick, add a splash of water and re‑boil.
🌿 Experiment with flavor by swapping lemon juice for lime or adding a pinch of spices such as cardamom or ginger.
