🍞 Gingerbread Loaf Recipe offers a moist and warmly spiced treat that’s perfect for holiday gatherings.
🎄 The rich molasses flavor paired with aromatic spices makes this loaf a cozy and comforting addition to any festive table.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 10 slices

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 2 teaspoons ground ginger

– 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)

– 1/2 cup salted butter (softened)

– 1/2 cup unsulphured molasses (regular or light molasses recommended)

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 large eggs

– 1 cup buttermilk

– Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch or 9 x 5 inch loaf pan with cooking spray. Line it with parchment paper to make removal easy and prevent sticking. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and salt, then set it aside for later.

2-Next, in a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar and softened butter until they’re well combined. Add the molasses and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly to blend the flavors. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.

3-Now, add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Stir just until everything blends together without overmixing. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. If the top starts browning too fast, cover it loosely with aluminum foil.

4-After baking, let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack. Once it’s fully cooled, dust with powdered sugar if you like. This method keeps the loaf moist and tender, thanks to the buttermilk and eggs, and it’s perfect for food enthusiasts experimenting with new flavors.
