🍌 Indulge in these Frozen Banana Bites for a refreshing treat, perfect for hot days and satisfying your sweet tooth.
🍫 With a mix of chocolate, peanut butter, and optional toppings, these bites offer a delightful blend of flavors and textures.

  • Total Time: Approx. 2 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: Approx. 25 bites

Ingredients

Scale

3 ripe bananas

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips for coating and rich chocolate flavor

2 teaspoons coconut oil for smooth chocolate melt and glossy finish

Sea salt

flaked salt

chopped nuts

sprinkles

peanut butter

Instructions

First Step: Prepare Bananas Peel the ripe bananas and slice them evenly into rounds about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Thinner slices work well if you plan to add fillings like peanut butter.

Second Step: Freeze Banana Slices Arrange banana slices on a parchment-lined baking tray in a single layer to prevent sticking. Freeze for at least 1 hour to firm up.

Third Step: Melt Chocolate Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler on the stove.

Fourth Step: Dip and Coat Dip each frozen banana slice fully or halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip back into the bowl. Optionally, roll or sprinkle with nuts, sprinkles, or a pinch of sea salt once coated.

Fifth Step: Refreeze Coated Bites Place the chocolate-coated banana bites back on parchment paper and freeze for at least 2 hours to allow the chocolate to solidify completely.

Final Step: Serve or Store Serve immediately if desired, or transfer to an airtight container for storage in the freezer. Let frozen bites sit at room temperature a few minutes before eating if sensitive to cold. Customize with nut butters or jams sandwiched between banana slices before dipping for extra flavor and texture.

Notes

🧊 Use ripe bananas with some brown spots for optimal sweetness and texture.
🔪 Slice bananas as desired, considering thinner for peanut butter additions.
🥥 Allow melted chocolate to cool slightly before adding toppings to avoid melting them.
