🤠 Hearty cowboy casserole combines savory ground beef, creamy sauce, and crispy tater tots for the ultimate comfort food meal
🧀 Cheesy topping and smoky bacon create a satisfying family dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights and potluck gatherings

  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

– 1/2 pound (about 227 grams) of ground beef

– 1 cup of corn

– 2/3 cup of condensed cream of mushroom soup

– 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

– 1/3 cup of whole milk

– 1/4 cup of sour cream

– 1 teaspoon of onion powder

– 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

– 1/2 cup of cooked and crumbled bacon

– 32 ounces (about 907 grams) of tater tots

Instructions

1-Start your Cowboy Casserole by preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C). This step ensures even cooking and a crispy top. Brown the 1/2 pound of ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, then drain the excess fat to keep the dish from becoming greasy.

2-Next, mix in the corn, condensed soup, half of the cheddar cheese, milk, sour cream, onion powder, black pepper, and bacon until well combined. Transfer this mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer it evenly, and sprinkle some cheese on top before arranging the tater tots.

3-Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until it’s bubbly and golden brown. Finish by adding the remaining cheddar cheese and baking for another 5 minutes until melted.
