🧀 This Cheesy Green Bean Casserole combines creamy soups, sharp cheddar, and crispy fried onions for a comforting, flavorful side dish.
🥘 It’s an easy-to-make classic perfect for holiday meals or everyday dinners, bringing satisfying texture and cheesy goodness.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

– 14.5 oz (411g) canned French cut green beans, drained

– 10.5 oz (298g) can cream of mushroom soup

– 10.5 oz (298g) can cream of celery soup

– 6 oz (170g) container French-fried onions, divided

– 8 oz (226g) block sharp cheddar cheese, grated (about 2 cups), divided

– Kosher salt, to taste

– Cooking spray (or 1-2 tbsp butter/olive oil), for greasing

– Worcestershire sauce

– soy sauce

– black pepper

– red pepper flakes

– chopped onions

– onion powder

Instructions

1-Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly greasing a 13×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray, butter, or olive oil. This sets the stage for even cooking and prevents sticking.

2-Next, in a large bowl, gently combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, half of the French-fried onions (about 3 oz / 85g), half of the grated cheddar cheese (about 1 cup / 113g), and salt to taste. Mix it all together for that perfect blend of flavors.

3-Once mixed, pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly for uniform baking. Then, top it off with the remaining grated cheddar cheese (about 1 cup / 113g) and the rest of the French-fried onions (about 3 oz / 85g) for that signature crunch.

4-Bake for 1 hour, remembering to turn the baking dish halfway through to get even browning. After baking, let it cool for 20 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to settle.
