🥬 Cheesy Baked Cabbage Steaks offer a deliciously tender and mildly sweet vegetable dish, enhanced with garlic and herbs for extra flavor.
🧀 The crispy golden cheese topping adds a comforting, rich layer that makes this recipe a satisfying vegetarian main or side dish.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

– 1 head of green cabbage (outer leaves removed, sliced into 1-inch thick steaks)

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 2 garlic cloves, minced

– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

– 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

– 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

– Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Instructions

1-First: preheat your oven to 425°F. Prepare your cabbage by washing it and slicing into 1-inch thick steaks. In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, a bit of the Parmesan cheese (about 2 tablespoons), plus salt and pepper to taste.

2-Second: arrange the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet in a single layer and brush both sides with that flavorful oil mixture.

3-Third: bake for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway, until they’re tender and golden.

4-Fourth: pull them out and top evenly with 1 cup grated mozzarella and the rest of the 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.

5-Fifth: pop them back in for another 5 minutes until the cheese bubbles and browns.

6-Finally, let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

🧀 Grate your own Parmesan and mozzarella for better melting and taste.
