2 teaspoons granulated sugar

8 ounces gruyere cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons fresh sage, finely chopped
1/2 cup caramelized onions

Instructions

1-Thinly slice the onions: Thinly slice the onions.
2-Melt the butter in a large pan: Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add in the onions and season with salt. Cook slowly over low heat, until deep golden brown and caramelized, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Be sure to stir occasionally so that the onions don’t burn.
3-Let the caramelized onions cool completely before: Let the caramelized onions cool completely before adding to the dough.
