🧀 Enjoy the rich and creamy flavors of Brie combined with the sweet crunch of apples and the deep, savory notes of caramelized onions in this grilled cheese sandwich.
🍏 This sandwich offers a comforting, easy-to-make meal perfect for a quick lunch or dinner, bringing together a delightful balance of textures and tastes.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 3 sandwiches

Ingredients

– 6 slices of bread Provides the base for a sturdy sandwich

– 8 ounces of soft Brie cheese sliced thinly Adds creamy meltiness to each bite

– 1 apple sliced thinly Brings a fresh, crisp sweetness to balance the flavors

– 1 cup of caramelized onions Offers rich, savory depth that’s the star of the show

– 2 tablespoons of butter Helps toast the bread to golden perfection

Instructions

1-First, butter one side of each of the 6 bread slices to get that crispy edge.

2-Place 3 buttered slices buttered side down in a warm skillet or panini press.

3-Divide the 8 ounces of sliced Brie, 1 thinly sliced apple, and 1 cup of caramelized onions into three portions. Layer them on the bread, topping with an extra piece of Brie for gooey goodness.

4-Cover with the remaining 3 bread slices, buttered side out, to seal in the flavors.

5-Cook until the bread toasts and the cheese melts, about 15 minutes total flip if you’re using a skillet. If a panini press isn’t handy, the skillet works great for even toasting.

Notes

🧅 Caramelized onions can be made in advance and frozen for quick meal prep.
🍎 Use a crisp apple variety like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for a nice contrast to the creamy Brie.
🍞 If a panini press isn’t available, a heavy skillet can be used to toast the sandwiches evenly.
