🥩 Blackened Steak and Shrimp Alfredo offers a rich and creamy garlic sauce paired with perfectly seasoned steak and shrimp for a satisfying meal.
🍤 This dish combines bold blackened spices with tender proteins and al dente pasta, making it a flavorful dinner option ready in just 35 minutes.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 8 ounces penne pasta

– 1 pound large raw shrimp, deveined, tails removed

– 1 teaspoon blackened seasoning for shrimp

– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

– 1 pound top sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

– 1 teaspoon blackened seasoning for steak

– ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter

– 1 small yellow onion, diced (about ½ cup)

– 2 teaspoons minced garlic

– 2 cups (476 g) heavy whipping cream

– 2 cups (200 g) freshly grated parmesan cheese

– 1 tablespoon blackened seasoning for sauce

– ½ teaspoon kosher salt

– ½ teaspoon black pepper

– Parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

1-Cook 8 ounces of penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and drain the rest. Set it aside for later trust me, it’s key for the sauce!

2-Season 1 pound of large raw shrimp with 1 teaspoon of blackened seasoning, making sure every piece is coated evenly for that perfect Cajun flavor.

3-Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until they’re done and pink. Remove them and keep them warm don’t overcook!

4-Season 1 pound of top sirloin steak cubes with 1 teaspoon of blackened seasoning, then crank up the heat to high, add ¼ cup of unsalted butter, and cook the steak for 1-2 minutes per side until it’s browned outside and pink inside. Set it aside with the shrimp to rest.

5-Lower the heat to medium and sauté the diced yellow onion (about ½ cup) until it’s softened, which takes 3-5 minutes, then add 2 teaspoons of minced garlic and cook for another minute to build that amazing aroma.

6-Pour in 2 cups of heavy whipping cream, ¼ to ½ cup of the reserved pasta water, 2 cups of freshly grated parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon of blackened seasoning for sauce, ½ teaspoon of kosher salt, and ½ teaspoon of black pepper. Stir constantly until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens it’s like magic happening in your pan!

7-Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together, using more reserved pasta water if needed to get that creamy consistency. Then, top it with the cooked shrimp and steak, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve it up hot!

Notes

🍝 Penne pasta holds creamy sauce well, but other pasta shapes can be used.
🍤 Use large, peeled, deveined shrimp; adjust cooking time if using different sizes.
🌶️ Adjust blackened seasoning amount to control spice level according to taste.
