– ¼ cup unsalted butter

– ½ cup granulated sugar

– ½ cup packed light brown sugar

– 2 large eggs, room temperature

– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

– ⅔ cup all-purpose flour

First Step: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped, and ¼ cup unsalted butter. Microwave on high in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted, about 2 minutes.

Second Step: In a large bowl, beat ½ cup granulated sugar, ½ cup packed light brown sugar, and 2 large eggs on medium speed until light and frothy, about 4 minutes.

Third Step: Add the melted chocolate mixture and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and beat until combined.

Fourth Step: Stir in ⅔ cup all-purpose flour, ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon baking powder with a spatula until mostly combined.

Fifth Step: Mix in ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Sixth Step: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the batter for 30 minutes.

Seventh Step: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Eighth Step: Scoop the chilled dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls and place on the baking sheets about 3 inches apart.
