1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

raisins (optional)

3 tablespoons salted or unsalted butter for brown sugar sauce

Instructions

1-Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2-Grease baking dish: Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.

3-Prepare bread: Break the bread into about 1-inch cubes and place them in the dish.

4-Butter drizzle: Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle it over the bread cubes.

5-Mix custard: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the 4 beaten eggs, 2 cups milk, 3/4 cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

6-Soak bread: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, making sure all pieces are soaked.

🍞 Use stale or day-old bread to better absorb the custard; if fresh, dry cubes in oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
⏳ Prepare the pudding the night before for convenience or refrigerate leftovers up to 5 days.
🔪 Check doneness by inserting a clean knife in center; it should come out clean.
