🧄 Enjoy homemade garlic naan bread made easy and quickly with the convenience of an air fryer.
🍞 This recipe delivers soft, flavorful naan with a fragrant garlic butter finish, perfect for pairing with a variety of dishes.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 23 minutes
  • Yield: 8 naan breads 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1/3 cup warm milk

2 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons plain yogurt

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 teaspoons grated or pressed garlic

3 to 4 tablespoons water for kneading

3 tablespoons melted butter

2 tablespoons chopped coriander or cilantro leaves

2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic

Instructions

1-First: mix the warm milk with the active dry yeast and granulated sugar in a bowl. Let it sit covered for about 5 minutes until it turns frothy; if it doesn’t, grab fresh yeast to keep things going. Once that’s ready, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, plain yogurt, vegetable oil, and grated garlic in another bowl, then add in the yeast mixture.

2-Next: knead everything together with 3 to 4 tablespoons of water until you get a soft, smooth dough that feels just right. Rub some vegetable oil on the dough’s surface, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for at least 2 hours or until it’s doubled in size. After that, move the dough to a clean surface and divide it into 8 equal balls, flattening each one into rounds about half an inch thick.

3-Mixing and Cooking Steps: In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, chopped coriander or cilantro leaves, and finely chopped garlic to make the garlic butter, then brush some on each flattened dough round.

4-Mixing and Cooking Steps: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and give the basket a light oil coating to prevent sticking.

5-Mixing and Cooking Steps: Cook one naan at a time for 7-8 minutes on one side until it’s lightly golden; remember not to flip it to keep the texture soft and perfect.

6-Mixing and Cooking Steps: Right after cooking, brush the naan with more garlic butter and repeat the process for the rest of the dough balls.

7-Mixing and Cooking Steps: Serve it warm for the best experience, perhaps alongside our peach and prosciutto flatbread for a fun twist on flavors.

Notes

🧪 Use warm (not hot) milk to avoid killing the yeast.
🥖 Avoid rolling the dough too thin to keep naan soft and fluffy.
🔥 Do not flip naan during air frying to maintain tenderness and texture.
